Nature of Services: |
‘Recommended for continuous good work in
patrolling, both on the ordinary coastal patrol and latterly patrolling the
net barrage. He has not actually been in action with an enemy submarine, but
has shown great zeal, determination and good seamanship. A notable case being
on the 18, 19 and 20 December, 1917, when, in most unfavourable weather, he
removed and beached a derelict which had become a danger to navigation’. |
