Registers of Discharge

Source: PRO: ADM 1/5120/19 – Miscellanea - Unfit for Service - Haslar 1792

This is a survey into of men at Haslar hospital around 9th April 1792, that ‘could receive no further Benefit’ from treatment and were excepting one who was dead, therefore, ‘unserviceable’. Fortunately (or unfortunately depening on one’s mindset) there are only 13 individuals on the list. Apart from their names, their ships, their qualities, reasons for entry (two different columns), details of entry, age, height, complexion, colour of hair or wig.

There are three volumes (parts one to three) in this series, in part and total running from 1812-15. These writs under Habeas Corpus are in date of entry order and highly interesting, but obviously only relate to a relatively small number of men.
